Top Favorite Board Games In No Particular Order
Camel Up
What Jordan enjoys most about this game:
Camel Up is the best possible bridge between Board Gaming & Party Gaming.
Regardless of whether your family regularly spends the night playing Catan with all of the expansions, or if you're more likely to play endless rounds of Scum/Dalmuti/Uno, Camel Up is going to be a hit.
In Camel Up, you're betting on the most prestigious of all events, the great camel race around the pyramid! You'll have to choose when to place your bets, roll the die and see which Camel takes the lead, and where to place your oasis.
Is it highly strategic? No, not at all.
Is it a ton of fun? Absolutely.
Jordan's favorite memory of this game:
To be entirely honest it's been a few years since I've pulled out my copy of Camel Up, but the reason it still holds a spot in my Top 12 is that literally every time I have played, with family, friends, whoever, everyone has had a great time.
It's just so quick to pick up and play through, the risk-reward of placing your bets early or rolling the dice first is so well balanced, ultimately it's the perfect game when you're just looking to have fun with your friends and family without too much stress (and no hurt feelings!)
Recommended for anyone who loves:
Family Games - (Catan, Ticket to Ride, etc...)
Party Games - (Telestrations, Code Names, Apples to Apples, etc...)

Spencer
What Spencer enjoys most about this game:
Lord the the Rings: Duel for Middle-Earth is a game about meeting one of the three win conditions: Taking (or thwarting) the ring to Mount Doom, Gaining control of Middle Earth, or uniting the races. This is a two-player game similar to 7-Wonders Duel, but even better if you can believe that! In each "age" players take turns picking from the revealed cards to progress their chosen method of of victory while trying to prevent their opponent from out-pacing them. Whether you're a LOTR fan or not, you will be in love with Lord the the Rings: Duel for Middle-Earth after just one session.
Spencer's favorite memory of this game:
While demo-ing Lord the the Rings: Duel for Middle-Earth at Timp Con this year, I played against an opponent who was a very experienced board gamer, much more than I was. They recognized immediately that collecting the race cards give you more long-term advantages. I was able to notice their strategy and start hate-drafting all the race card that would benefit them. Without realizing it, I had borrowed from their skill and gotten myself into a better position by taking accidental insight from a more experienced player.
Recommended for anyone who loves:
Territory Control Games - (Risk, Axis & Allies, etc...), Card Games - (Scum, Dalmuti, Uno, etc...), Strategy Games - (Stone Age, Agricola, Terra Mystica, Scythe, etc...)
This game is great for:
Board Game Night (Friends/Other Gamers), Couples / Game Night with your BFF
Bridger
What Bridger enjoys most about this game:
Root never seems to feel the same each time you play it, with its expansions there are hundreds of different forms the game can take. You could figure out how to perfectly play your faction against another one, but next round could play someone totally different and throw your strategies out the window. It's fantastic! The different factions all feel like their own game so freshness is never a question.
Bridger's favorite memory of this game:
My favorite moment is near the end of the game when everyone is like 1 turn away from winning. I've never played a game of root where it wasn't a neck and neck race to win the game. I think my favorite is when my brother (who isn't the biggest fan of board games) gets into it and this game is a sure fire way to do that.
Recommended for anyone who loves:
