Top Favorite Board Games In No Particular Order
What Jordan enjoys most about this game:
King of Tokyo is the ultimate dice rolling game for everyone in the family!
Even though it's core mechanic is "just" yahtzee (roll dice, 2 rerolls, see what you get) I've never had more fun rolling dice.
Claws attack other monsters, Hearts heal you up, and Lightning Bolts power up special abilities, so there's always something to go for when you're rolling.
However, my favorite part of King of Tokyo is the "King of the Hill" gameplay - when someone is in Tokyo, they attack everyone, and everyone attacks them, but if you give up Tokyo then all of a sudden you're on the same team as everyone else against the new King of Tokyo.
This was a great mechanic for playing with my nephews, who absolutely hate being picked on, because they could always join our team if they were willing to surrender the crown :-)
Jordan's favorite memory of this game:
When King of Tokyo first came out, we took it on a family vacation.
Literally, every single night we ended up playing multiple rounds - and we're all adults! It's just that much fun to roll the dice and see if your monster can take down the rest.

Joseph
What Joseph enjoys most about this game:
So it was between this and Twilight Imperium. One of those two is older so I picked Arnak.
Arnak is one of my favorite games of all time. Each time I play I feel like I have a better grasp on what to do and how to win. The deck building flows into the worker placement and songs with the theme to create a symphony of an engine builder through all the different mechanics and ideas combined. The fact that I am not itching to play with the expansions would usually be a sign of worry (I freaking love my expansions) but I am more interested in making sure that the people who i play games with are interested in playing this game. And again each play through has been better than the last. I can not recommend this game any more highly.
And yes, it is better than Dune Imperium. I will not be accepting comments at this time.
Joseph's favorite memory of this game:
This is the only game I have gotten my dad to play multiple times with me in the last couple years. Automatically a 10/10

Star Wars: The Deckbuilding Game
Spencer
What Spencer enjoys most about this game:
Star Wars: The Deckbuilding Game has been out for a little over a year now, and it's popularity has been widespread. so much so that they released Star Wars: The Deckbuilding Game: The Clone Wars edition soon after! Beyond being my favorite era of Star Wars, the deckbuilding mechanics they have implemented in this game is what makes it so popular. You draft cards from your faction from the "Galaxy Row", assassinate targets from the galaxy row that you dont want your opponent drafting, and battle for control of the galaxy!
Spencer's favorite memory of this game:
One of the coolest mechanic in Star Wars: The Deckbuilding Game: The Clone Wars is that when your opponent destroys one of your bases, you get to choose which base you retreat to. Different bases have different abilities, so choosing the right one can turn the tide of the battle. In a game with a friend I retreated to Mustufar which lets you draw a card the first time you play a neutral card. Well by the time I lost my first base my deck was about half full of neutral cards. It essentially game me a free card every turn which in Star Wars: The Deckbuilding Game, is a HUGE advantage.
