Hello Fellow Artists and Gamers!

I'm thrilled to share that Game Grid has an amazing opportunity for you to showcase your creativity and earn recognition for your talent.
We are hosting an art competition for custom tokens to be used at our upcoming Command Con 23 - Summer Event, and we want you to be a part of it!

The Prizes!

Our Top Artist will receive a $100 gift card to Game Grid Lehi

AND the top 10 artists will receive a life-size poster of their submitted art as a 36" x 48" canvas print, yours to keep or sell during the event!

All artists whose work is printed on our tokens will not only receive credit with their name and/or Instagram handle featured on their token(s), you'll also have an opportunity to sell your original work or signed prints during Command Con and get 10 copies of your tokens.

Plus any profits** from this project will be paid directly to the artists that have made it possible!

What You Bring to the Project

We're seeking unique and creative designs for a full deck of tokens, using any medium, any style, and for any token you can think of!

Feel free to submit as many designs as you'd like, but please note that we will only evaluate the first 4 submissions from each artist in case of too many submissions. Also, AI-generated art* submissions will not be accepted.

The Fine Print

*Fine Print on AI Art

Feel free to use AI programs to brainstorm or generate ideas as part of your process. It’s not going anywhere and is an important tool to learn. However, your final submission must be uniquely yours - we are trying to create tokens that showcase our community, not find out who is the best prompt generator :-)If our judge panel has concerns about your submission being 100% AI, we may ask to see samples of your work or process.

**Fine Print on the Profits
We gave away a lot of our last batch of custom tokens - and we didn’t sell many after CommandCon was over.
Which is totally fine, they were created as a fun project to add something new and unique to CommandCon.
However, that does mean that we did not make any profit on this last series of tokens.
If we sell out of the print run on this series of tokens, we would net approximately $15 profit per token, which we would pass on directly to the artist of each token.

Fine Print on Rights & Permissions
The artist will retain all rights to their submission, and grants the rights to Game Grid to use their submission for the purpose of
A) Printing custom tokens
B) Printing the life-size poster prize

Further, the artist grants the rights to Game Grid to make any necessary edits, alterations or adjustments to their work for the purpose of printing said pieces, including but not limited to upscaling, resizing, overlays, and other graphical layouts.

FAQs

What size should my work be?
For the Token, you'll want to be ~750x1050 pixels
That's 2.5"x3.5" at 300ppi

For the canvas print you'll want your work to be at least 3600x4800 pixels.
That's 36" x 48" at 100ppi

We can upscale your work, so any submission high enough quality for the token can be used for the Canvas print

Where can I find a template for the tokens?
Here
If you don't know how to work with a "bleed", just make sure that anything you want to see printed is in the safe zone and fill the whole template with background etc.
