Ten years ago, a mysterious burst in the sky gave ordinary people extraordinary powers. The awed public started calling them Epics.

But every Epic turned out to be evil. Today, in what is know as the Fractured States, Epics rule cities or what is left of them as tyrants, and nobody fights back... nobody but the Reckoners. A shadowy group of ordinary humans, the Reckoners spend their lives studying Epics, finding their weaknesses, and then assassinating them.

In Newcago, formerly known as Chicago, a powerful Epic known as Steelheart reigns supreme. He transformed a vast portion of the city and surrounding area into steel and constructed a palace on a now steel-covered section of Lake Michigan. No one dares to challenge him and his legions of Enforcment and lieutenant Epics. This is where you come in...

The Reckoners is a cooperative game: all players win or lose together. During play, youll take on the role of one of the Reckoners, moving around the city, saving lives, removing Enforcement, purchasing equipment, and eliminating Epics. When youve eliminated enough Epics, you will have a chance to defeat Steelheart.

If the Reckoners manage to defeat Steelheart, then you win! However, if too many civilians die, then all Reckoners immediately lose.
