Top 12 Favorite Board Games
Number 11
Mariposas
What Chris enjoys most about this game:
Designed by Elizabeth Hargrave (the same who did Wingspan), this game is an absolute gem. Everything has a beautiful flowing aesthetic to it, from the board layout to each individual piece. The gameplay itself was surprisingly deep to me with a fair amount of strategy that can take place. It's a gamble between spreading across the board as much as possible to being able to return back home in time. There is enough season cards to make this game worth playing over and over again.
Chris' favorite memory of this game:
I'm generally not a risk taker when I play games. I prefer to play a safe strategy to minimize risk. My buddy is the opposite, he will go for the long bomb plays in a live or die kind of way. This game is great in that both of us have seen success and failure with our different strategies. I highly recommend this to families who want a game night together.
Recommended for anyone who loves:

Point Salad
What Jordan enjoys most about this game:
I love any kind of quick, simple card game that let's you make interesting decisions as you play. From Sushi Go to Great Dalmuti, Cover Your Kingdom to Schotten Totten, there's always fun to be had with a deck of cards.
Point Salad is not only a great face-up draft experience (like Azul, you'll be picking from a common pool of options - and what you leave behind is as important as what you take!) but Point Salad adds the additional option of letting you also pick scoring cards, so you'll always have different ways to play and score.
Jordan's favorite memory of this game:
Whatever you do, don't play against Joey Wheeler - that man is The Cesar of Point Salad - always managing to turn piles of veggies into an enormous amount of points!

Quacks of Quedlinburg
Joey's 11th Favorite Game
What Jordan (Joey) enjoys most about this game:
Being able to take turns simultaneously with the other players and all feel the fun and pressure of the push your luck together. It is also great that each of the ingredients has several different variations of effects that you can change up and play with each game. Along with the different event cards you turn up each round, the replayabilty of Quacks is higher than most family games like it, which is something that I value highly in a game.
Jordan's favorite memory of this game:
I love watching players need one more ingredient to have the perfect turn but also be 1 or 2 points away from their potion exploding. This leads to tense moments of fun watching them have to sweat over the two decisions. It is also nice that the game does not punish players too harshly for exploding their potion because it makes the decision to push your luck or not even more interesting. There are also fun combos of ingredients that you can build and it is always fun to watch your potion go up 6 or more spots with one ingredient pull if you can build the perfect combo.

Thunderstone Quest
What Skyler enjoys most about this game:
Thunderstone quest is an awesome deck builder/dungeon crawler where each turn you decide whether you want to go to town and recruit more heroes and weapons/gear or to go down into the dungeon where you can fight different monsters and collect different rewards.
Skyler's favorite memory of this game:
I really enjoy the freedom you have when building your deck with getting to choose between different races of heroes and finding the best gear/items to go with them to best travel through the dungeon.

Coup
What Spencer enjoys most about this game:
I love any game that includes deception and manipulation. Coup may be the most fitting for players who like this kind of game play. You must make difficult decisions on your turns to obtain resources, stop others from getting resources, and everything in between!
Spencer's favorite memory of this game:
When I first played this game, my opponent was a little too confident in his characters abilities and went strongly on the defensive. By the end of the game, after playing patiently, I had both of my cards face down while he had one of his turned face up (if both are turned face up you lose the game). He had used his resources too late, and I was able to use mine to knock him out. If felt really good to see my patience pay off!

Red Dragon Inn
What Will enjoys most about this game:
The weird uniqueness of Red Dragon Inn is probably its greatest strength with each character having a completely unique deck and playstyle, making every game different from the last. Additionally, you are only limited in player count by the number of Character decks you have. I've played as few as three players, and as many as nine.
Will's favorite memory of this game:
I was playing with a character who channeled chi through his drunkenness, and got stronger the more alcohol he consumed. This led to me teetering on the brink of losing the game in favor of being as strong as possible, which allowed me to knock out two separate people on two consecutive turns, before subsequently losing all of my money, and thus the game. It's filled with TONS of these ridiculous scenarios that make the game so incredibly fun.
