12 Days of Christmas - Day 12!

 

Day 12 is finally here - Christmas Eve!!

I don't actually know if the 12 Days of Christmas is supposed to end on Christmas Day or Christmas Eve, but it's pretty safe to say that regardless of what day it is supposed to be, there is no way that I was interrupting Christmas Morning to write another post :-D

 

Before we get to our 12 Winners, I wanted to take a moment to say thank you to all of you.

Thank you for playing our silly games, answering our Question of the Day, reading my long-winded posts and giving great responses.

Thank you for supporting us during this crazy year, buying local, and keeping our doors open when it can be so much easier to just shop online.

 

I've written before about how grateful I am, but I think it is worth repeating that there are literally no words to express what it means to me. Countless game stores have had a rough year, or even closed their doors permanently. Because of you, Game Grid is still here and our staff are still employed doing what they love.

 

And I would be remiss if I didn't take this opportunity to give a shout out to our amazing staff. Despite the ups and downs of this year, they have continued to be absolutely incredible. Building our community on Twitch and Discord, diving head first into Warhammer, Painting and Modeling, learning how to ship orders, driving around the state for delivery - no matter what crazy nonsense I come up with, they embrace the challenge and impress me every day.
As I write this, our store has opened for a few hours on Christmas Eve, and normally I would be slammed, stressed out and trying to help out every customer that came through the door. There were a lot of years where it was just me. And this year I have time to take a moment to write this post, because I know that they are here, taking care of the store and our customers, recommending great games and helping people find the perfect last minute gift.
Game Grid would not be everything that it is without them.


Finally, I want to take a moment to say thank you to my wonderful wife. At the beginning of the pandemic I was freaking out, trying to figure out what to do. I ended up working for 12+ hours a day, spending time in the shop and then coming home and hammering away at my laptop until it was time to sleep. Despite the stress, the long hours, and having a 4 month old, Brielle was there every step of the way. Brielle is my better half in every way. She is my conscience, my social media manager, my partner. There were definitely days and weeks that I couldn't have gotten through without her ideas, her input, her love and support. Whatever it is that you love about Game Grid, the odds are pretty good that she had a hand in making it happen. And all while making sure that our beautiful baby girl has everything that she needs too. Brielle has done so much for me and our family that I could never adequately cover it all in this post - I guess I'll just have to hope that what I got for her for Christmas is "on point" :-P



Alright, there are undoubtedly an infinite number of people that I should be expressing my gratitude for, the rest of my Family especially, but enough of the sentimentality, let's get back to what you're all here for..... Our 12 Lucky Winners!!!
